Take a journey and listen to this album in track order to follow the storyline narrative/concept of 3808.
TO THE CORE: this track is truly about the hard work that humanity is going through in order to get deeper below the surface.
TO THE CORE is the first single from forthcoming sophomore album BELOW THE TERRA PT.1 (due early 2022). Following on from the success of remix collection Tales of Terra & Chaos Retold (07/2021), the TO THE CORE single is primed to bring listeners truly deeper into the post-apocalyptic world of 3808.
This track tells the tale of how humanity is now surviving in bunkers below the surface. Hiding away, as the dust turned to permanent icy cold and of course the oppressive constant watch of the machines. Musically the track combines elements of EBM and industrial metal to give a driving feeling, akin to the hard work of the survivors digging tunnels to retreat from the surface cold and position themselves closer to the warmth of the earth’s core. Delivering punchy, tension building fever, some thunderous beats and a chorus that will have you chanting.
This single draws further on the concept created in Terra 3808 (2019) and offers follow-up to Chaos Rising Trilogy EPs (2018 – 2017) and Judge & Punish EP (2017) developing the harsh reality of existence, and what humans must do to continue to survive in 3808. Part sci-fi/post-apocalyptic, part commentary on manoeuvring through the world during a pandemic; current followers will be enthralled with the sounds and it undoubtedly will attract new fans too – eager to explore this diverse landscape in sound and story, a true journey for the listener.
lyrics
Say goodbye leave the surface behind,
It’s all about the daily grind,
The deeper, the darker, as if we’re blind,
Try to keep, the positive mind
DOWN INTO THE CORE
CHASING DREAMS,
AWAY FROM THE DOOR
Through the tunnels and into the rock
Excavating against the clock,
Digging down away for the cold,
Before the mind games are taking hold
DOWN INTO THE CORE
CHASING DREAMS,
AWAY FROM THE DOOR

/// reviews
“TO THE CORE continues thematically with the dystopian society of 3808, detailing humanity's desperation against the mechanical oppressors as the survivors, the outlaw crew, are forced below ground. Combining aggressive, menacing beats with vocals that alternate between cold, mechanical effects and harsh screams, MATT HART has created yet another brutal, yet danceable track that leaves the listener wanting more from the upcoming BELOW THE TERRA album.” ~ Bootstomp Dark Electro Body Industrial Techno Show, USA 08/10/2021 www.mixcloud.com/BootstompIndustrial/uploads/
