/// reviews
"The new song, “Deep Down City” is a renewal and traditional at the same time: you can feel MATT's distinctive style, which he has known so far, but it also struck a bit more melodic atmosphere, despite the fact that the guitar got more space.[...] If you somehow avoided the performer, it is time to make up for it." ~ Mortel Misantropix, NecrogenesiS - Magyar Industrial Webzine, Hungary – 18/09/2023

"... continues his futuristic/cyberpunk path with a new single called "Deep Down City." With this single the musician once again gives us a powerful track, which presents industrial sounds, guitar riffs that accompany the main melody and a rawer voice than in his previous singles. The single is accompanied by a striking video clip, which reflects very well the essence of the single, very futuristic, in the style of films like "Tron", which will definitely take us to the year 3808." ~ Atomium Magazine, Chile – 26/09/2023

"We have been following the catastrophic tale of humans versus alien machines, unfolding in the musical exploits by MATT HART. The London based industrial musician and DJ, has released his latest single DEEP DOWN CITY. Imagine living 6000 levels below the surface of the planet, a new shadowy world where humans have finally settled from the reach of the machines, trying to recreate what they had above ground. The guitar is there, building the tension, but the synths are the smooth heroes of this track, however the big surprise is the vocals. Not only do we have HART’s growls, but we get to hear the man actually sing, letting us hear his dulcet tones. DEEP DOWN CITY is a something a little different from MATT HART, with its mingling of harsher industrial and retro synthwave, creating a wonderfully pulsating dynamic. The track portrays a cyberpunk styled domain where life is lived in the constant gloom, that is only broken up by the need for sleep and entertainment. One wonders what the aliens are up to on the surface and I am guessing we might find out soon." ~ ADELE SINNAMON, Onyx Music Reviews, Australia – 18/10/2023

"#1 on Sounds & Shadows September 2023 singles chart list. London Industrial Metal artist MATT HART is no stranger to the top of the S & S Darkscene chart. I love how every single has a cyberpunk back story. This track would be the perfect scene builder for one of my old ShadowRun Table Top games. A new neon world buried beneath the destruction of the past. Cybernetically enhanced 6 inch platform boot stomps. Designer drugs and laser cycles hugging the corners of plastic streets. Razor production and imaginative concepts." ~ Ken Magerman, Sounds & Shadows, Michigan, USA – 19/10/2023

"British musician, producer, DJ and violinist MATT HART likes to immerse himself in the web of industrial, dark electro and EBM. With honour, pride and sacrifice, he put his soul into his latest single DEEP DOWN CITY. But 'honour, pride and sacrifice' is also what applies, there in [the] DEEP DOWN CITY. A city built by the bandits for the bandits. The excavation continues, but now humanity has a new home. 6000 levels lower…
The song has a high Rammstein quality, although it also contains a lighter, more melodic intermezzo and also spoken samples, so there is a lot of variation within the track. It is without a doubt a heavy electric stomper that will do well at live shows and in clubs." ~ Nel Mertens (Alien Darkness #259), Luminous Dash, Belgium – 22/10/2023

"The nightmare future of MATT's mind are brought in to full focus again with his powerful and aggressive style of forcing a story and image deep in to your mind with some of the most brutal - door kicking - vocals around." ~ Canis Lewis, ElektroVox, London, UK – 29/10/2023
